Auditable AI / Auditable Automation

AI-driven decision-making where each step of a determination (data used, rule applied, outcome reached) can be traced and reviewed after the fact, as opposed to an opaque or "black box" output.

What it means

As AI takes on more of the prior authorization decision chain, the ability to trace exactly why a determination was reached becomes a compliance and trust requirement, not just a nice-to-have. Auditability matters for internal quality review, payer disputes, and regulatory scrutiny alike.
